Vice President, General Counsel
An employee-owned, industry-leading service company seeks to identify candidates for the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Based in the Midwest, with operations throughout the U.S. and Canada, our client has over 9,000 employees and continues to grow both organically and through acquisition.
The Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary will report to the CEO and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. This individual will have the opportunity to build the Company’s legal infrastructure in a way that helps drive the business to increased effectiveness.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of related experience preferably with a complex public company with a national workforce that is geographically dispersed. Senior in-house legal management as well as prior experience with a law firm is ideal. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in employment law, regulatory and compliance matters, corporate contracts, government contracts, M&A, and corporate governance. A bachelor’s degree and a juris doctorate from an accredited law school are required, as well as membership or eligibility for admission to the state bar.
Chief Legal Officer and Secretary
A leading private equity-owned Midwest industrial manufacturer seeks to identify candidates for the position of Chief Legal Officer and Secretary. In March 2018, our client filed Form S-1 with the SEC to raise funds in an initial public offering (IPO). The company has realized double-digit growth in the past three years and is poised for continued success.
The Chief Legal Officer and Secretary will report to the CEO and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. This individual will have responsibility for directing the company’s legal functions with a focus on corporate and securities law.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of related experience with at least 10 years in a senior in-house role, working in general corporate law with a public company, or a company with public debt. Demonstrated experience with IPOs is desired. A dynamic and business-oriented lawyer with international and manufacturing experience is preferred. A bachelor’s degree and a juris doctorate from an American law school are required, as well as membership or eligibility for admission to the state bar.
